Betty Mae Josey

Mrs. Betty Mae Josey, 88, died on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at her home in Boykin. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Sam Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Boykin Church of God Cemetery with Tony Josey, Blake Josey, Chris Knight, Jaxson Knight, Max Williams, and David Tucker serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, at Colquitt Funeral Home. 

A native of Baker County, Mrs. Josey was a retired school bus driver of 20 years. She was a member of Mother's Home Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Angie Williams of Colquitt, GA; two sons, Tony Josey of Brinson, GA, and Craig Josey of Climax, GA; six grandchildren, Chris Knight, Max Williams, Lori Williams, Blake Josey, Dawn Josey, and Sarah Josey; seven great-grandchildren, Tesla Haire, Jaxson Knight, Lexie Haire, Marek Halstead, Phoenyx Halstead, Alivia Love, and Calista Love; one brother, Ed Tucker of Colquitt, GA; and one sister, Bonnie Smith of Charlotte, NC. Mrs. Josey was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Luther Gene Josey; one daughter, Annette J. Knight; a son-in-law, Max Williams; a great-grandson Alaric Halstead; and her parents, Wilburn and Francis Kelley Tucker.

The family is receiving visitors at the family home at 57 Babcock Road, Colquitt, GA.

The family would like to thank a special caregiver, Leila Josey Johns, for all the love and care. They would also like to thank the GA Hospice Nurses, Chaplain, and their Social Worker
