Billy Weyman Roland, 84 

Billy W. Roland of Colquitt died April 7, 2026 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama. He graduated from Miller County High School in 1960, then worked/retired from the Georgia Forestry Commission after 34 years. He was a committed member of New Salem Freewill Baptist Church where he served many years as Sunday School Director and Choir Director. Before and after retirement, he was avidly involved in community projects and organizations such as Miller County Recreation Board, Miller County Board of Education, the Mayhaw Festival Committee, Chamber of Commerce, Flint River Soil & Water Conservation District, and more. The organization dearest to his heart was Golden Triangle RC&D of which he served as President for 30 years and remained a member of the executive board thereafter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.V. & Pauline Roland, his sister, Alma Jean Grimes, and his son, Jeff Roland. He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Jane Harrell Roland, his son, Steve Roland (Angie), and his grandchildren Lesley Roland Abney (Jason), Josh Roland (Valerie), Jeffrey Roland (Sarah), Celia Roland Poff (Andy), Camille Roland, Celeste Roland Clay (Timothy), and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will have a private memorial service at home
