Calista Sanders

Calista C. Glass Sanders of Dothan, Alabama, formerly of Bainbridge, GA, departed from this life on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the home she shared with her daughter, Debbie (Larry) Creekmore. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM, at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Brother Mylan Brookins, Rev. Bobby Whitaker, and Rev. Joel Hudgins officiating. Interment will follow at Notchaway Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Calsita was born April 18, 1937, daughter of George Harvey “Pete” Glass and Pearlie Jewel Cook Glass in Colquitt, GA. She was raised with her brothers Kenenth Glass and Luther Glass, both of which preceded her in death; and two loving sisters, Emma Jean Glass Smith and Louise Glass West Hodges, who also preceded her in death; along with Alizah Walden and Kennedie Brown; parents, George and Pearlie Cook Glass; and others. Calista married Perry W Sanders on August 3, 1952. They were married for 54 years before his passing in 2009.

She is survived by her children, Becky (Ron) Maestas of Bainbridge, GA, Charlene Sanders (Homer Reid) of Cairo, GA, Debbie (Larry) Creekmore of Dothan, AL, Billy (Pam) Sanders of Bainbridge, GA, and Bobby (Cynthia) Sanders of Colquitt, GA.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rita (Shane) Gay, Matthew (Holly) Maestas, Didi (Matt) Oates, Maranda Heath (Elliott), Christopher (Tori) Sanders, Derrick (Elizabeth) Creekmore, and Kelly Harrison; great-grandchildren, Ethan (Loriah) Davis, Cameron (Nicole) Nichols, Harrison Brown, Tenley and Blakelyn Creekmore, Jade Porter, Allison Porter, Caleb and Kyle Maestas, and great-great grandchildren, Cason Jack Porter, and Aristella Luna.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to ACG Hospice.
