Mr. Darrin Kenneth Blankenship of Colquitt, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tim Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Mother's Home Cemetery with Zach Blankenship, Jake Blankenship, Paul Flowers, Brandon McNease, Kyle McNease, and Heath McNease serving as active pallbearers..  Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Donley, Blaine Everson, Jay Deffenbaugh, Jimmy Stringer, Tom Riley and Chip Hall. A visitation will be held one hour before the service, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Darrin Kenneth Blankenship passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 20th, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, faith, and laughter. Darrin was a loving husband, father, son, and friend. He will be remembered for his knack for puns and quick wit, along with his passion for music of all kinds. He had a brilliant mind and was always ready to engage in a deep and thoughtful conversation on the topic of your choice. And let’s not forget how he demonstrated eternal optimism with his unwavering support of his beloved Miami Dolphins. Darrin graduated from Miller County High School, Bainbridge College, and obtained his masters in Architecture at Florida A & M. After working many years for various Architecture firms, he seized the opportunity to found his own firm, Arcworks, and proudly dedicated his talents and time to helping develop and improve the region he proudly called home, SWGA. He was involved in various community activities in both Miller and Decatur counties. He was a supporter of the local arts and even chose to get married to his beautiful wife at Cotton Hall in Colquitt.

Darrin is survived by his wife Ann (Deffenbaugh) Blankenship, children Zachary Kenneth (15), Holly Ann (15), and Jake Walter (13), his mother, Gail Gray Johnson, Sister, Kelly (Blankenship) Flowers (Paul), and four nieces, Mallory Cusmano (Gino), Peyton Dunn (Ben), Josey Flowers, and Tess Flowers.He is preceded in death by his father, Kenn Blankenship, his paternal grandparents, Arnold and Cora Blankenship, maternal grandparents, O.D. and Juanita Gray, and special uncle, Jerry McNease.
