David Marlin Whitaker

Mr. David Marlin Whitaker of Bainbridge, GA died Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Whitaker will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026. at 11:00 AM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony Mock officiating. Interment will follow at Gordon Cemetery with Brantly Whitaker, Cody Whitaker, Carter Godwin, and Justin Whitaker serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Mr. Whitaker was a father and a friend. He formerly worked for Vulcan Materials as a plant operator. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding the back roads of South Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Terry Whitaker of Bainbridge; three sons, David (Bridget) Whitaker of Bainbridge, Scott (Regina) Whittaker of Donalsonville, and Kevin Whitaker of Bainbridge; five brothers, Arnold Whitaker of Colquitt, Bradley Whitaker of Bainbridge, Joseph (Jean) Whitaker of Cuthbert, Wendell (Vivian) Whitaker of Arlington, and Russell (Sherry) Whitaker of Colquitt; one sister, Marie Richardson of Thomasville; grandchildren, Katie Whitaker, Cody Whitaker, Brantly (Miranda) Whitaker, Allison (Hugh) Dollar, Sarah Whitaker, Corey Whitaker, and Christian Whitaker; as well as his great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Whitaker and Marion Whitaker, and parents, Euston and Elise Whitaker.
