Eddie Lee Adams passed away peacefully at his home on February 10, surrounded by the family he had loved and raised. He will be cremated. A private ceremony will be held on the banks of Spring Creek.
Eddie was born at Miller County Hospital on June 20, 1945, the son of Joe Brown Adams and Ruby Adams. Eddie graduated from Miller County High School and later from Southern Business University in Atlanta. In the end, though, he would never put that degree to use, choosing instead to return to his roots and begin a lifelong career in farming. Along the way, he met and married the love of his life, Jean, and the two of them raised a family and built a successful farming operation. Eddie loved fishing, especially on Spring Creek, and not always in a legal capacity, as putting out sucker nets was one of his favorite pastimes. He loved catching them and sharing his catch with family and friends. He also loved to talk, boy, did he love to talk. He never met a stranger, and if he caught you on the street, chances were, you were going to be late getting to your destination. He also loved farming and watching his labor bear fruit. But most of all, he loved his wife, kids, and grandkids, and was the best husband, father, and provider his family could have asked for.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean; two sons, Darrell (Niki), Dennis (Kristy); daughter, Barbara; as well as a host of grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, Joe Adams; and his sisters, Mildred Echols, Lottie Long, and Willine Musgrove. He was preceded in death by his parents. and sisters. Barbara Jean Adams and Peggy Daniels.
