Edwina Janann Bush Davis Thomley, died Friday, June 13, 2025, in Columbus, GA, with her children by her side. Born on July 6, 1934, in Colquitt, GA, she was the daughter of Clara Sue Lane Bush and George Edward Bush.
Edwina graduated from Miller County High School in 1952, a member of the first senior class that required twelve years. On her eighteenth birthday, she married Alton Lanier Davis. They made their home in Colquitt, Ga, where they were blessed with four children: Janet, Sandra, Al, and Chuck.
After Alton died in 1968, Edwina provided and cared for her children, with the help of the Bush and Davis families. When her children reached adulthood, she met and later married Thomas Benjamin Thomley; Edwina and her family welcomed his three children—Paul, Don, and Lynn.
Edwina was a woman of deep faith and a lifelong member of Colquitt Methodist Church. She served selflessly many years, teaching Sunday School, sending cards, sharing flowers, providing meals, and visiting those that she cared about and loved.
