George Eddie Hughes

     George Eddie Hughes, 83, passed away peacefully at Lifebrite Nursing Home in Blakely, GA on Monday, October 14, 2024. He was formerly a resident of Arlington, GA. He will be cremated. A burial will take place at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery in Arlington, GA.

     Mr. Hughes formerly worked for Hughes Logging. 

     He is survived by two nephews, Gene (Brenda) Hughes of Arlington, GA and James F "P Wee" (Sherry) Hughes of Blakely, GA; two nieces, Barbara (Frank) Santora of Thomasville, GA and Mary Jean Taylor of Blakely, GA, as well as several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James M Hughes, Freddy Hughes, and James H Hughes; two sisters, Mary Moody and Hettie Trawick; and parents, Jessie and Mattie Cherry Hughes.
