James Arthur “Jim” Wood, age 80, of Shalimar, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2024, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 at 4:00 PM at Rawls Cemetery with Rev Kent Barwick officiating,

 Born on October 25, 1944, in Brewton, Alabama, Jim dedicated 40 years of his life as an electronics engineer and contractor at Eglin Air Force Base.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ariel Clarke Wood and Ruby Gargis Wood; his step-father, Frank Lewak; his son, Aaron Wood; his siblings, Don Wood, Barbara Gibbson, Betsy Hunnicutt, Joyce Wood, and Frank Lewak, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat Cofty Wood; his daughter, Lisa Fender; his grandchildren, Nick McKinley and Kristin Foley-Dixon; his great-granddaughter, Carmen Foley; and his sisters, Ruth Subel and Judy Anderson. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
