Mrs. Jeanette Sheffield Jordan, lovingly known as "Nenette" to her family, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the age of 90. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 5:00 PM at Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Barwick and Rev. William Smith officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 4:00-5:00 PM. Interment will follow at Colquitt City Cemetery with Craig Tully, Hubert Stafford, Richard Henley, Steve Holt, Eddie Cobb, and Cleve Roland serving as active pallbearers.
Jeanette was born on July 14, 1934, in Miller County, Colquitt, Georgia, where she spent her entire life in this loving community. Her parents were the late Thomas (Tom) Blackshear Sheffield and the late Gladys Roland Sheffield. She was married to her beloved husband, the late Charles Dewitt Jordan, for 61 years. They built a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to their family. She had an unwavering work ethic as well as living a life of spunk and sass. Jeanette worked for Thomas and Betts and was very dedicated to her supervising position and working with her co-workers. She worked from March 15, 1965, to August 1, 1996.
Together, they raised two children: Darrel (Merri) Jordan and Debbie (Gary) Enfinger. Not only a cherished Mother, she was a grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, Aunt, and Friend. Nenette is lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren: Brandi (Garrett) Bridges, Bradley (Brooke) Enfinger, Brent (Katie) Enfinger, and Brooklyn (Charles Tabb Lane). Her legacy will live on through her great-grandchildren: Jordan Cannon, Garret Reese, and Cooper Grow Bridges, McKinley Karyl, Colten Clarke, Messer Reed, and Charlie Ridge Enfinger. Also, she was preceded in death by her much-loved brother, Dewitt Sheffield, and sister-in-laws, Joan Sheffield and Betty Mae Wilson and brother-in-laws, William Russell Blackmon, Billy Wilson, and Eugene Williams. Other survivors include her dear brother, James Sheffield, and three loving sisters: Wynell Williams, Delory Blackmon, and sister-in-law, Jean Sheffield. She will be fondly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends, and her much-loved dedicated caretakers: Mary Powell and Evelyn Register.
Jeanette was a cherished member of Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church, that she loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Colquitt Free Will Baptist Church Renovation Fund at PO Box 5, Colquitt, GA 39837.
