Jimmy Mott

Mr. Jimmy Mott of Cairo, formerly of Colquitt, died Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Grady Hospital in Cairo. Funeral services will be Friday, May 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bryan Gainous officiating. Interment to follow at Bellview Cemetery with Garrett Roland, Tim Cook, Timmy Donley, Charles Lingle, Jason Varnum, Sean Hall, Jerry Gurski and Luke Cook serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday, May 1, 2026, from 10:00-11:00.

Mr. Mott was a retired police officer and had served in the Georgia National Guard.

He is survived by two daughters, Laura Kate (William) McCorkle of Cairo, GA, and Serena Faith (James) Beckett of Madison GA; one grand son, William McCorkle IV; mother, Sara Mott of Donalsonville, GA; four brothers, Ed Mott of Colquitt, GA, Tim Cook of Colquitt, GA, Eric Mott of Mississippi, and Deric Mott of Dothan, AL; and three sisters, Kim Mott of Mississippi, Crystal Maxwell of Donalsonville, GA, and Amy (Timmy) Donley of Colquitt, GA.
