Jimmy Buren Womble

Mr. Buren Womble passed away Friday, July 24th, 2026 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 26, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Cory Thomas and Ronnie Joe Shiver officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery with Blake Womble, Dusty Edwards, Chris Bailey, Brandon Simpson, Weston Edwards, and Joe Swofford serving as active pallbearers. Honorary Pall bearers will be Eli Edwards, Koby Wynn, Chad Mock and Jason Cox. Visitation will be held before the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Mr. Buren was a retired farmer. He served as the Pastor for Damascus Baptist Church in Damascus for 25 years, and was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by one son, Russell (Sandra) Womble of Blakely; two Daughters, Joye Bailey of Colquitt, and Linda (Max) Wallace of Blakely; seven grandchildren, Kristi Womble, Blake (Mary) Womble, Jeremy Edwards, Dusty (Kristin) Edwards, Chris (Jenifer) Bailey, Jalin (Joe) Swofford, Brandon (Halie) Simpson; ten great-grandchildren; and one brother, Wayne (Barbie) Womble of Colquitt.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Cashwell; father, Charlie Saeborn Womble; mother, Claudia Mae Martin; and one son, Ronald Glenn Womble.
