Lisa Cowart

Lisa Cowart walked into her forever home on February 7, 2026. Born to Cecil and Fannie (Hayes) Cowart, she lived life entirely on her own terms. Whether known as Lisa, Ms. Lisa, Mama, or Ninny, she was a woman who never once met a stranger and lived with a singular independence that was "just that." Graveside services will be Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Colquitt City Cemetery with Rev. William Hurst officiating.

She is survived by her four children: Lance (Amanda) Davis, Laura (Jeff) Abernathy, Lesley (William) Hurst, and Lucas (Amber) Davis, as well as her honorary children, Garrett Powell and Crystal Holt.

Her legacy continues through her twelve grandchildren: Ashleigh, Will, Jacob, and Henry Hurst; Kirsten, Lexi, Mason, and Aspen Davis; Jackson and Grant Davis; and Jarrod and Lauren Abernathy.

Lisa is also survived by her cousins, Marsha Cox, WC Yates, Sherrie Williams, Karol Atkinson, Cindy Kelley, and Chris Hayes, along with her longtime friends, Gary and Kathy Davis.

Lisa Cowart was a woman who navigated the world exactly how she chose, leaving behind a family that understood her life was defined by her own rules and an open door for anyone she met along the way.
