Phillip “Steve” Steven Williamson, 70, of Colquitt, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025.
Born in Donalsonville, Georgia, on March 29, 1955, Steve lived a life full of adventure, love, and laughter. A true traveler at heart, he journeyed wherever life took him, but his greatest adventure began in central Florida, where he met the love of his life, Josephine “Josie” Williamson. The two shared 39 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, laughter, and devotion.
For the past 25 years, Steve and Josie made their home in Colquitt, Georgia. Steve spent his life living it to the fullest and dedicated himself to taking care of his wife—never missing a chance to spoil her.
Steve found joy in the simple pleasures: being outdoors, taking a good creek run, and searching for arrowheads on sunny afternoons. He was known as a jack of all trades who could work on and fix just about anything. His resourcefulness and skill were matched only by his kindness and sense of humor. He had an adventurous spirit and a generous heart that left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Williamson; four children, Amy (Ronald) Dupree of Naples, FL; Vanessa Sheffield of Colquitt; Stephanie Williamson of Colquitt; and William (Leagh) Williamson of Colquitt. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Jarret (Emily) Dupree, Trace Dupree, Carisma Dupree, Reese Worsley, Allysa Bailey, Jack Bailey, Liam Williamson, Raylan Sheffield, Rylee Williamson, Willow Bailey, Olivia Williamson, and Oliver Williamson, all of whom brought him endless joy and pride. Other survivors include his brother, Keith Williamson, and his sister, Merry Lynn Blackshear.
Steve joins in heaven his parents and his sisters, Bobby and Phyllis, who welcomed him with love.
Steve will be remembered for his adventurous soul, his deep love for his family, and his ability to find beauty in the world around him. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In accordance with Steve’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Instead, the family will host a celebration of life — one last party — to honor him. Details will be announced at a later date.
