Ronald Jerome Brownlee

Mr. Ronald Jerome Brownlee of Colquitt, Georgia, passed away on January 12, 2026, at the age of 90 years old.

Ronald was born on October 6, 1935, the middle child of Charlie and Vastee Stanton Brownlee. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 until 1964. From 1959 to 1961, he was stationed in France, and he was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

In 1962, Ronald began a long and faithful career with John Deere, where he worked for 42 years until his retirement in 2004. He was also a devoted member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in Colquitt, where his faith and fellowship were an important part of his life.

Ronald was a loving husband, father, and Granddaddy. He found joy in woodworking, fishing, and all things John Deere, but his greatest joy was always his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Sandra Willis Brownlee; his son, Ron Brownlee; and his brothers, Maurice Brownlee and R.A. “Bud” Brownlee.

He is survived by his daughter, Denise Henley (Marty); his grandchildren, Grace Henley, Matthew Henley (Cassidy), and Courtney Roberts (Jason); and his great-grandson, Harrison Roberts.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held immediately prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., and interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery with Matthew Henley, Jason Roberts, Hollis Askew, Scott Johnson, Jeff Braswell, and Caleb Henley serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Gerald Grow Post #165 American Legion.
