Rosemary Grow Drake

Rosemary Grow Drake, 89, of Colquitt, GA, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2025. She was born on June 29, 1936, in Colquitt, where she grew up.

After graduating from Florida State University, Rosemary moved to Atlanta and became a schoolteacher. She had very fond memories of that time of her life, and some members of her 5th-grade class have remained in contact with her over the years. Rosemary had a long career in the Georgia state government, serving as executive secretary to several Georgia Cabinet members. She was a longtime member of the Colquitt Methodist Church, loved everything “beach-y”, and was always welcoming to stray cats and kittens.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt and Pawnee Grow, and leaves many loving family members and friends. A celebration of life will be held at Colquitt Methodist Church on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM, followed by a service at 2 PM.
