Zack Hunter Williams Jr

Zack Hunter Williams, Jr. of Dunwoody, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the age of eighty-one. He was born on January 15, 1944 to Zack Hunter Williams, Sr., and Emma Haddock Williams.

A service of Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 4, at eleven-thirty o’clock at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church Chapel, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta GA, where he was a member and sang in the Choir.

Zack was born in Colquitt, GA and was a graduate of Miller County High in 1962 and then attended South Georgia Junior College. After one year, Zack transferred to the University of Georgia where he graduated in 1967 with a degree in business.

He moved to Atlanta and began his career working for the US Railroad Bureau. Upon his retirement, he obtained his Real Estate license and began working for Century 21, and then REMAX and Atlanta Communities Real Estate. With Atlanta Communities, he obtained his Broker’s License and was a Life Member of the Million Dollar Club.

Zack spent his childhood and youth in Miller County, GA, where he developed many close lifelong friends, to include his very dear friend, Herbert Perry. He loved bird hunting and gathering with his friends. Zack was a member of the Walter C. Dancer Masonic Lodge #115, in Colquitt, GA, and was also a Shriner. He loved sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. Zack played Duplicate Bridge with his wife, Mary Lee Duncan Williams at the Atlanta Duplicate Bridge Club. They also enjoyed playing golf together.

Zack was predeceased by his wife, Mary Lee, his father, Zack H. Williams Sr, his mother, Emma Haddock Williams, and his sister-in-law, Pearl Duncan Geddens. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Garry Geddens and nephews, Tom and Robert Geddens of Columbia, SC, and many close friends. Zack was devoted to his mother, Miss Emma, until her death in 1995.

Zack’s remains will be buried in the Colquitt City Cemetery at a later date.
